Our 10 ha terrain and its surroundings are ideal for both bird watching and bird photography.
Some fairly easily spotted examples of the around 300 types of birds seen in and around Safari Beach Lodge are:

• From our private beach: Pied Kingfisher, Cormorant, Little Egret.
• In our Garden: Boehm’s Bee eater, Little Bee eater, Blue Waxbill,  African Pied Wagtail, Bulbul. At night you have a good chance to see our resident Pel’s Fishing Owl.
• From our boat. A 100% chance to see African Fish Eagle and a Cormorant colony.
• In the Marsh and forest areas close to the lodge: African Jacana, many Egrets and Herons, Falcon, different Eagles and Snake Eagles, Ducks, different kind of Weavers etc.

We can also arrange a professional Bird Guide for you, who can help you to find the most beautiful birds.
